I made these bone china brooches while I was apprenticed to a master ceramist.
They were made using bone china paperclay and I’m going to call it “printed” (to crowbar them into my current website!) from moulds featuring interesting textures—this one was a pattern created from star anise pods which made very pleasing star shapes!
These brooches are remarkably tactile and they are strong… to a point. Bear in mind they are ceramic, so subject to all the usual rules you’d apply to your favourite cup, they’re probably not dishwasher safe, though. If they get grubby, you can wash the brooch with a non-stick kitchen scourer and soap.
Some sharp(ish I sanded them all as smooth as I could) points may be present, quite apart from the brooch back, so definitely not suitable for children.
